I met Joe Gamble's mom, Stephanie, today. I've known Joe for quite a while now and we've been working together ever since. He is a fabulously talented photographer and and even more important, a guy with tremendous character. His mom lives in Boston and she follows the blog. Well, lo and behold, I walk in to a restaurant for lunch today and some beautiful woman asks me if I am Donna Von Bruening. I panic because I am thinking "crap, this has got be some groom's mom that I can't remember."
When she told me she was Joe's mom, I was over the moon. We hugged like we've known one another forever. She made my head big with compliments and I can only hope that I achieve what she has in raising Joe... in raising my boys. Stephanie, It was my pleasure and next time you are in town, lunch is on me!!! You never know, I might be in Boston this summer:)
Speaking of the boys. Happy Halloween. I've only got Gray's pic...Noli was not interested in getting his pic taken. Maybe I can talk him into it tomorrow.
Anyway --check Gray out...at 6, Dr. Von Bruening is too cool for school. God help me when he is 16!
I hope you get more treats than tricks. I am off to spend the night with my men.

Olivia and I are of the same eye. She loves photography (check her out at blueolivephoto.com) and well, so do I. She and Eddie finally tied the knot after a long separation so you can image the celebration. Eddie has been in Iraq, I swear, forever. I am sure Olivia felt that way...like it was forever. I have never been around two people who were more excited to be together forever --together being the key word. Hopefully, no more long delployments for Eddie. Don't fee too bad for them, they are heading to Northern Cali.
Olivia and Eddie's decor was off the charts cool. It was bright, unexpected and fun. Kudos to Michelle at Madame Chrysanthemum for creating amazing florals.
Minette for an uber cool cake. New Arts Ensembles for amazing music and Equinox Jazz Band (with Trae and Jeremy) rocking the reception. Oh, and the reception --at the fabulously modern Jepson Center for the Arts with delicious food by Savor Savannah.
Olivia's mom passed away and she had given Olivia this little bible. Michelle wove it into the decor of Olivia's bouquet. Lovely.
I was trying to work in the orange with the teal --Eddie was a great sport.
Goldfish in the centerpieces --so cool.
The group shot...
The famous Aunts of Olivia....
Ahh...they served mini-dogs to commemorate when Eddie first told Olivia he loved her...at a hot dog stand.
I hope you guys had a fabulous honeymoon! Thanks for trusting me with your fun, fun wedding.
I think I am still recovering;)

Where are you spending New Year's Eve? Well, I've known for months...I am spending it with Sunny and Harold. I LOVE THEM!
There are a million reasons but mostly, I love them because they truly make me feel like a million bucks...treating me like I am part of the family. Who doesn't love to feel great...so in return, I am uber committed to making their photography dreams come true. To do that, we spent a few hours while Harold was on leave from the military (next stop, Germany, for him)...we had a few hours and this is what we did...
And you know how I always tell you about the love? I try to describe it for you. I can tell you why Sunny is marrying Harold aside from his amazing eyes....he has the presence about him that makes you feel safe. If he makes me, a mere acquaintance feel that way...I can only imagine the intensity of love and care, Sunny receives from Harold. Sunny...she makes him laugh and he is enamored of her. Just watching him watch her...it gave me the chills. I cannot wait to end 2008 with their wedding. What a blessing!
Because he just can't stand it anymore...how could I possibly torture him one more second? One of my best grooms of the year... and his beautiful bride who chose to bring a few close friends to celebrate their wedding day...are dying to see a few images. So, here you go, John. Because you were one of the kindest , most courteous and easy to photograph grooms --and your bride and little ones were gorgeous......a midday blogpost.
I have never ever seen anyone happier about a wedding. Have you? She is so sweet and was so excited.
The truth is I never know what I am walking into at a wedding when it is intimate affair. I usually don't meet these couples because they are planning long distance and don't make a trek to Savannah for a big planning weekend. They plan the whole affair by phone and put their trust in vendors and their recommendations.
I know the Pink House came through for you, John and Nicole...I hope you think I did as well. Enjoy!
And your family is BEAUTIFUL! Reminds me of me and my sisters...

Wow! That is all I can say about Tia and Glen. There was something that took you right to the core of their love. I mean, everyone ...Everyone...grown men...6ft grown men...sobbing all night long. Everyone was in love with Tia and Glen and I know why. You can't not be drawn to their love. It was magnetic.
That is the perfect word...magnetic. Glen just loved her so much it made my heart literally hurt. I was in awe of them and so, so lucky they chose me to share their wedding day.
The details were unbelievable and clothes seemed to be the main attraction...courtesy of the Jim Hunt, Hunt Club Clothiers. I am not even close to kidding when I tell you the men fussed more than the women. Nice change of pace ---to have guys fussing a bit and it took the heat off Tia. She relaxed and enjoyed the day --while I was running between two dressing rooms --enthralled with it all.
Cutest ever! But the most well-behaved little ones I have seen ever at a wedding.
Tia told me how important it was for me to capture Glen's face when he saw her for the first time. He didn't let either of us down.
I swear, he could not stop kissing her. It was adorable and made me cry.
