It seems like ages ago, not 21 days, but 21 days it was...Tate and Shannon's Sonoma wedding. Of course, Kelli and I had a blast with the Thompson's and Osborns.
First things first...how did I end up in California for a wedding. Well, sometimes, brides see the blog, love my style and photography is a priority for them. Other times, it is like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. This weddings was a Kevin Bacon story.
Jennifer Thompson is one of my dear friends and her husband, Bill's son was getting married in Sonoma. Bill wanted to know, could he give my services as a gift to his son and his wife-to-be? So there...that is how Kelli and I got to spend 4 glorious days celebrating with the Thompsons and winding our way around wine country.
Here is Bill, Jen and their sweet Jordaon (who I call JuJu much to Bill's dismay).
And here is the handsome Tate...
and the gorgeous Shannon, who I am sure won't mind me telling you she is the anti-bride. Tate planned this affair...Shannon just wanted to have fun ( I really think she would have run away and got married). She is starting off on a great foot!!! Training Tate to party plan, next will be grocery shopping and dinner prep. You go girl!
We were at the fabulous The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma --a shot of the famous watertower.
Tate and the guys....
These are Tate's adorable nieces.
Tate and Shannon, thank you for including us in your fabulous weekend celebration in wine country.
Enjoy your first holidays as Mr. and Mrs!!!

I wish you all a day of fun, food and football...with a few moments of peaceful gratitude. My family is spending Thanksgiving with my dear friend, Trisha and her family. They are our Maine family and they've driven 18 hours (with 3 kids) down to the SAV to visit for a week. We are having a blast. Today is Trisha's birthday. I wanted to wish a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Trisha and give her a big fat THANK YOU for being an awesome friend (really a sister) for over a decade. (Here is a shot of us --a few years old --but hey, we are usually too busy wrangling kids to get our pic taken).
Happy Birthday, My Dear Sweet Friend. Your heart and mine are intertwined forever.
To all my brides, blog readers, and wedding colleagues...I am grateful for your unending support and the joy you bring to my life and business. I one of the blessed who loves to go to work because, well, it just isn't work to me. Thank you!
To my friends and family...so often, between the working, taking care of families, running households...we often complain that there is never enough time, never enough money, and where the hell is the maid when you need her?
...but there is always enough love. For this, I am thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoy a few pics of Trisha's kids from a cold November day.
I'll bet you are wondering..."what the heck?" "Where is my daily blog post?" "This is getting ridiculous...waiting days on end for just a sprinkling of words when I know damn well she has got weddings to post and some portraits I am sure, too."
Yea, yea, yea...I know. I have been so busy getting holiday cards out and taking care of clients that the I have put you as #2 on the priority list, dear blog readers. I know, for shame, for shame.
You'll have to be patient this next week because my dear friends, the Fletcher family is in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. We'll be managing 5 kids under 8, drinking a little vino and laughing a lot...being thankful for our great kids, our awesome friendship and the many blessings we share.
So while I am living offline, I promise to keep you in my thoughts and throw you a bone every now and again. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
speaking of throwing you a bone...here are a few random images of the last swim of the year.
Finally, I am getting back to Toni and Brent's wedding...two weeks ago. I know they don't mind waiting because they've been traveling around Ireland on a pub --uh, I mean history --tour:)
