Several years ago, I had the honor of photographing Shelley and Gary's wedding at the Westin.
I am thrilled that they keep coming back for me....
Meet their kids, Quinn and Walker!
Quinn couldn't help but spin in her pretty dress.
I am so honored that Shelley and Gary make the several hour drive from their home to Savannah --
just so I can capture their children's lives.
Thank you!

Driving home from Florida on I-95, I am in the rest stop and in walks one of my brides, Maureen Hodor (who married her sweet husband, John, in 2007). I didn't recognize her as the last time I saw her she was glowingly elegant in a gown and full veil. Here is a peek of their wedding...and it was great to see you Maureen.
Boy, you never know where you are going to run into someone --such a small world.
Oh - thanks to you my fabulous blog readers --I am now booked again for October 11, 2008..in less than 24 hours!
Every so often, a wedding cancels. As sad and heartbreaking as it is, it is usually better in the long run. My policy is not to refund the retainer unless I can book the date.
I know I have had a ton of requests for Octeber 11, 2008, so please if you contacted me, I am now available.
Yes, I am sitting in Panera Bread with my son --brought him a coloring book --just so I could have internet access while on vacation. After a few fun filled days at Universal Studios in Orlando, we came to visit my favorite lady, my Grandma, Marie. She lives in one of those fairly typical condo-type retirement communities in Florida and I have been coming here since I was 15. For everything that has changed - much has stayed the same.
Marie is a very active lady --she barely has cable tv. I am lucky if I actually get her at home and not her answering machine when I call. She is 86 but you'd think she was 60. With all these young at heart types around, I thought for sure someone would have wireless in the community. Ha! Not a chance. So I am sneaking across the street once or twice day to get my fix of being in touch.
Yesterday, I didn't check email once and it was exhilarating. I spent the day at an oceanfront park with the boys. We climbed, played in the sand and watch windsurers on the Gulf of Mexico. Whlie at the park I was catching up with my magazines (another guilty pleasure) and flipped to an article in Oprah about a woman who went 30 days without email. I was astounded and couldn't fathom it was possible. Much to the annoyance of her friends, she succeeded and wishes she could get rid of it altogether.
For the good technology has brought --it has also made lives more demanding --more immediate. I am as guilty as anyone of feeding this need. And well, yes, I have a problem. It probably surfaced from being overcommitted and managing things as they came in --into the old inbox. I love the ding of email alerts and I love responding to people immediately. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I got through my email today! Woohoo!
Seriously - I am embarrassed to even admit it. It is true. After my emailess experience yesterday --choosing not to get in touch, I can honestly tell you --I am turning over a new leaf. I am shutting off my email alert and going to check it twice a day. I am fairly certain, I'll be just a productive.
And I'll be more plugged in to real life.
Wanna join me?
