With much to see this wedding season (funny portrait season and wedding season seem to collide), I am going to have tons of images to blog --so you'll probably get much less commentary from me. Won't that be a nice break:)
Ali and Trip kicked off the season big time. Ali had the coolest wedding. She did different color schemes for each part --baby blue for the morning ceremony and deep reds for the reception. Amy Harvey created her magic once again. Permanent Tourists rocked the house. They are my favorite band in Savannah!!!!
My favorite part of the day was hanging with Ali while she was getting ready. We had fun and she is so, so easy on lens. She doesn't have a bad side.
Her fabulous dress in a fabulous view...
They were both so excited to see one another.
This little girl was enthralled with the whole wedding. She has got decades to plan --but I swear I saw her whip out a notebook and jot down notes.
Opps --forgot cutie Trip --who was so relieved when the ceremony was over. He was
happy to be with Ali and not be the center of attention any longer.
Welcome to Wedding Season. Your blog-starved eyes are about to become blog-weary. With 20 weddings in 12 weeks --we are going to have a ball!!!! Especially if yesterday was any indication. Kelli and I were having the best time with Ali and Trip's morning wedding through Morgan and Scotts evening fete! It was all a feast for the eyes, but I am telling you, I have some damn beautiful --no, no --BREATHTAKING brides and they are so, so nice. Love that!
Here's a little peak to whet your appetite. I know, I know -busy times and I promise to get you every detail of every wedding...I just didn't want you to start the week without a little wedding love from DVB.
It was an absolutely beautiful day and it was if the sun rose with Ali....
Today Grayson turned 6. I am flabbergasted, shocked, in disbelief that he is no longer an infant, a toddler, a preschooler --my gosh, he is his own person. Any one of my friends will tell you I am not a baby Mom --love my babies to death --but I prayed for the day they could wipe their own tush.
But, 6...come, on. I just realized that Louis and I celebrated 10 years together and it flew by. I can only image these next 10 (until Gray gets his license) are going to be at lightening speed. So I am little bittersweet that my first born is on his way.
He is an independent chap --my Gray. He's got opinions and he is outspoken (Can't imagine where he gets that!). There is something about him --I just know he is going to be okay in this crazy world. He has a good heart.
I took him outside for a quick shoot --and he cooperated exactly how most 6 year olds would --by making cheesy faces.
Nevertheless, it is the most beautiful 6 year old face on the planet.
This is for Lauri --because I know she is a devoted blog reader. I just finished Lauri and Jason's enagement session a few hours a go and it was so fun. We had a beautiful day --just beautiful. Lauri and Jason were up for anything and I gotta tell ya --Jason is a good listener --follows directions beautifully and with a smile on his face.
The wedding is this July and I am so bummed that I don't get to photograph it --Kelli and Heather have the honors. They are going to have so much fun!
Check it out -- I love it!
My favorite fun shot.
My absolutely favorite shot of the day! Love it!!!
So did Lauri.
Hey Lauri, I hope you next few calls are nice and quiet. Best to you
as you venture into life as an OB!

A few weeks back, I had the honor of photographing the Lucas family. Amanda was a bridesmaid in Melissa and Jay Brantley's wedding last fall. I was honored that she chose me for their first official family portrait and even more honored that they drove in from Macon.
Amanda and her boys (all three of them:) have had a crazy year between getting married and having a baby. In all this life changing chaos, they had to spend some time at St. Jude's for their 15 year old son. He is doing well and was a great sport for the shoot ---sporting his cool eye patch. At least Grayson and Nolan would think he was the "bomb".
Thank you for the honor. I am so grateful you dedicated a day of your lives to allow me to capture your family.
Can't wait until we do it again.
