It is true. I have the best job in the world. Every so often, I happen upon a couple who shine like the sun...who have the perfect love, the perfect wedding...I mean right out of a fairytale. That couple last year was Becca and Todd...when Kelli and I photographed their heartfelt wedding in Lake Placid, NY.
Not only did I fall in love with Becca and Todd, but I fell in love with Lake Placid and The Whiteface Lodge. I get to travel to some amazing hotels and locations but there was something about Lake Placid that just charmed me. It is a little slice of heaven here. So, I detoured Lou and the boys for a few days from our annual Maine trip to show them this town. What did they think?...Nolan said he thought this place was better than Disney. Well, well, how about that?
And here is the best part, next weekend, Kelli and I are heading over to Vermont to photograph Jill and Webby's wedding, Todd and Becca's good friends.
Really? I just don't think it could get any better! Stay tuned, because we've got another fabulous NE couple and an amazing wedding.
For now, I am signing off and Kelli is holding down the studio (thanks, Kelli).
My boys await....in the pool:)

Most of the time, I don't meet my brides before the wedding. Sounds odd, but so many of them come to Savannah to get married or I travel to them. My relationship begins online and over the phone. I hold my breath every time I walk into a hotel room or bridal room that she'll have her veil on so I can give her a big hug. I want to know who she is right away and not have to ask.
Jennifer and I were like that, didn't meet until her wedding day...we clicked right away. She was, of course, stunning, but it was her view of the wedding that made me love photographing her and her husband, Brandon. She understood, the party was a party and she was the lucky one in the room...she married the man of her dreams. She took the long view as I say. Nothing could have gone wrong that would have moved her attention from the love and bond she shared with Brandon.
And he, well, he is enamored. Most groom's take a little ribbing but he was so focused, proud and happy. He stood in front of his groomsmen and proudly proclaimed, "this is forever, guys...this is forever." I'll bet he doesn't even remember saying it.
Not to get off track, but I gotta start with the Manolo's!
My husband would have loved this...Johnnie Walker Blue. His fav...and Brandon's, too.
Brandon's grandfather's watch.
Thank you for a wonderfully easy night and allowing me to see your sweet love.

A quick peek at Whitney and Brian's engagement session at Callawaisse Island a few weeks ago. Sorry you had to wait so long, wedding season got the best of me when it came to the blog.
I am so looking forward to Whitney's wedding. I usually don't get to meet my bride's, grooms or the families before the wedding. So many of my weddings are destination and communication is via the internet or phone. I had met Whitney for a consultation but I was lucky enough to meet Brian and both of their parents when they were in town for a planning session. Everyone was absolutely wonderful, down-to-earth and fun. This is going to be a great wedding. Gorgeous couple in love, delightful families and a spectacular location. I cannot wait until next May!
Great News!!! Briana and Todd are the wedding of the week on Southern Weddings Blog. Go Check it out for the full story of how they met and all the great details that went into planning such a spectacular day!
Great people. I am surrounded by great people in this business. When I get the chance, I like to let everyone know about them.
Once such colleague is Rev. Steve Schulte. He is so real, so down-to-earth and joyous. That is the word, JOYOUS.
I love when Rev. Schulte officiates. His smile is genuine and he cares about his couples and the most important moment in their relationship.
Today, I was able to return some of that joy with a few images of my friend.
