Lionel Richie is blaring through my head as I prep these photographs to blog.
Saturday, Lacey and Emanuel tied the knot in style at the Wilmington Island Country Club. You had to be there --it was a party! An absolute blast! I was so tired the next day and that damn song kept going through my mind. To get the party kickin'...Emanuel grabbed his bongo's and pounded it out...to a little Lionel Richie.
Let's start at the beginning. Lacey was gorgeous. She changed to a short dress halfway through the reception to salsa..but I am getting ahead of myself again. She and Emanuel were looking incredible.
Lacey had two pairs of shoes too. Can you believe Girlfriend salsad away the night is these silver sparklers. Amazing cuz I was dying in my "practical" wedding shoes. They had a huge candy display and a polaroid station for the guestbook. Even the groom's cake was cool...Minette Rushing, of course.
The WICC was hopping to the Sensational Sounds of Motown from Athens. I am telling you that dance floor was packed all night....All Night Long...All Night..

Emanuel was all about celebrating and Lacey was right with him.

Happy Friday! At least it is for Ashley and Adam...who had a great time in the 100 degree heat at Fort Pulaski taking their engagement photographs. They were great sports --especially Adam. Not too many grooms just LOVE getting their picture taken and the ones that do --you know --tell me their good side --well...... And then there are the ones that ask "how long is this going to take" and had a smirk on their face the whole time. I get it. I hate being in front of the camera more than anyone. I try to work quickly, make it a fun memory for the couple and get great images.
Adam was great! He got that this meant a lot to Ashley and he really seemed to enjoy himself. I think he liked it more though when I focused on Ashley alone...and how could I not with her amazing eyes. She is going to be an absolutely goregous bride.
See what I mean --Adam kept it fun and light despite us sweating. Company photograher Heather Shell is the lead photographer for their wedding but I am right next door that day at the Jepson so I am going to have to sneak over and grab a few shots myself...I can't resist!
It is the first day of school tomorrow for my Grayson --Kindergarten. Can you even believe it????
Tonight we laid out his uniform and packed his backpack full of school supplies. He is so proud. I am overjoyed and excited for him. I am not one of the mom's that cry on the first day. I am so excited for him to start this journey, make friends, find his confidence and gifts...to really start a life of his own. I am a Mom who pushes independence and offers a safe place to fall. I take pride in my kids finding their own way. I am just thrilled for Grayson and for all you other 5 year olds just starting school. I will smile, wave and say a little prayer for your success as you walk through the school doors...but I will not cry.
No, for me it will be the last day of school that I cry --because a year as passed and my boy is one year older, one year of innocence lost, one more year gone. That is when I cry. Geez, I'll need a box of kleenex that day!
